2009

Corio Norlane

The Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) of the State Government of Victoria has identified some suburbs in Northern Geelong, Australia, as disadvantaged communities that would benefit from a programme of urban renewal. The DPCD is looking to put forward a business case to obtain the funding to develop such a programme. To inform the business case the social and physical aspects of the area need to be assessed and potential areas for development examined. Atkins Intelligent Space was asked to undertake a spatial analysis of the area to identify key pedestrian routes, the degree of public transport accessibility and the levels of natural surveillance. The results of the analyses were used to rank potential development sites to inform the DPCD of the locations where existing conditions were favourable.
Barclays ATM Implementation

Barclays Bank wished to implement new ATM machines at a central London location. They required a pedestrian impact analysis to be undertaken to gauge the affect of ATM queues on pedestrian movement. Atkins Intelligent Space undertook pedestrian surveys and Level of Service analysis to assess the likely impact of the queues on pedestrian movement.
Spatial Analysis - Kensington and Chelsea
2009, The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea
To assist with developing policy for their local development framework, Atkins Intelligent Space was asked to undertake a spatial analysis of the entire borough of Kensington and Chelsea. This analysis highlighted the key pedestrian routes through the area, giving the local authority a clear indication of where pedestrian movement is likely to be concentrated and conversely where pedestrian movement is likely to be constrained.

National Maritime Museum: Sammy Ofer Wing
