The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is considering options for the future development of the Golborne Road Market Area and BDP are developing streetscape masterplan options. Intelligent Space Partnership was commissioned by the borough to provide a pedestrian movement and retail healthcheck analysis.

The benefits of the study were:

  • to inform the design team with objective benchmarks of the current level of activity in the area;
  • to provide an evidence based approach to the understanding of the street market and its role in pedestrian activity;
  • to identify levels of flow typically needed for various land uses and an assessment of the potential for the site to support these uses in future under various development options.
