Pedestrians in the retail centre

Australia Capital Territory Planning and Land Authority commissioned Intelligent Space to develop a pedestrian movement model of Canberra Central to inform development proposals of the Civic area. The project includes detailed modelling of the new Canberra Central masterplan design proposals and analysis of the likely impact of the proposals on movement levels in the city.

The image below shows the current average hourly pedestrian flow in central Canberra. Red areas represent the highest levels of flow whilst blue areas represent the lowest.
