Accessbility analysis

Accessibility analysis of existing areas in Melbourne

In 2004 Intelligent Space Partnership was commissioned by the Department of Sustainability and Environment of the Victorian State Government to analyse two suburban areas of Melbourne: Hume and Melton. Spatial analyses of the existing street layouts by ISP were provided to inform design strategies for more sustainable and pedestrian-friendly urban designs in new growth areas of Melbourne.

The analysis was used by the Victoria Department for Sustainability and Environment to inform 'Inquiry by Design' workshops for the urban design teams and to explore specific development options for growth. The options were then modelled by ISP to identify potential impacts.
