Monitoring locations in central London

Intelligent Space Partnership (ISP) undertook a review of monitoring systems in place at London Boroughs on behalf of Central London Partnership (CLP). The study provides an overview of the different types of monitoring that can be undertaken and the benefits of each method. The report also summarises the monitoring activities and data availability in each of the Boroughs, in order to help facilitate reuse of data as a shared resource for benchmarking purposes by the Boroughs and other stakeholders.

A process of liaison was undertaken with all the members of the CLP Steering Group on Integrating and Understanding Walking to gather the data. By far the most common types of pedestrian monitoring data currently being collected by the Boroughs are flow counts. A small number of other monitoring data types were undertaken by some Boroughs and these are discussed in the report.
