Intelligent Space undertook an analysis of pedestrian movement in the Duisburg town centre on behalf of Duisburg City Council. The aim of the project was to inform strategic planning decisions regarding development in the centre, by providing a clear understanding of pedestrian flows. Existing flows were surveyed and visualised in colour maps, showing peak areas.

An evaluation of how to improve pedestrian connections in the town centre was undertaken by analysing the performance of key road crossing facilities and identifying desire lines for wayfinding. The information is being used to inform the City's liaison with stakeholders regarding developments in the town centre.
