The Treasury Building

Intelligent Space Partnership provided spatial Key Performance Indices (KPIs) for a value for money evaluation of the Treasury refurbishment plan by the National Audit Office. This project was undertaken as part of the Tectus Architects’ design evaluation of the refurbishment.

ISP used innovative computer models to assess how well the refurbishment plan supported new working practices such as enhanced awareness, communication and interaction between employees. These practices depend on certain spatial characteristics of the office plan, such as the intervisibility of workspaces, the ease of wayfinding on circulation routes and the simplicity of connections between the entrances of a floor and internal working areas. By modelling these functional characteristics using ISP’s advanced spatial analysis software, an objective assessment of the benefits of the scheme was provided.
