Intelligent Space joins the Atkins Group

Atkins today announces the acquisition of Intelligent Space Partnership Limited (Intelligent Space), an independent specialist consultancy providing pedestrian movement advice and analysis to the transport, healthcare and urban development sectors.

The acquisition will broaden Atkins service offering in transport planning, urban planning and design, masterplanning, and the design of transport interchanges, airports, major events planning and complex buildings.

The directors of Intelligent Space, Dr Jake Desyllas and Elspeth Duxbury, who will lead on pedestrian movement for Atkins, will work as part of Atkinsí Transport Planning Management team.

Commenting on the acquisition Jake and Elspeth said: "The acquisition represents the next exciting step in the development of our market leading pedestrian consultancy and, with Atkins' market penetration and investment backing, it offers the chance to considerably expand the scale of services provided worldwide."
