The Toolkit has been based upon the methodology developed within the Safer Hospitals and Schools Programme and contains easy to follow examples and templates to help identify and address crime issues. This Toolkit has been specifically tailored to meet the needs of both specialists and non-specialist groups involved in hospital and school security.

HOSDB Safer Hospitals and Schools Programme has numerous partners including NHS Counter Fraud & Security Management Service (CFSMS), NHS Estates, the Department for Education & Skills (DfES) Pupil Health and Safety Team, the Professional Association of Teachers (PAT), the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) as well as the specialist contractor Intelligent Space Partnership.
